Biographies

(2015 - Present)

I have no authority to tell someone else’s story. However, I am driven to reveal, through these drawings, my perception of the stories people carry. If we are lucky, other people's moments of truth sear through our own lives leaving us enchanted and mystified.

This became true for me around 2015 in the Bay Area with a specific life drawing experience. My drawing and activity paled in comparison with the life experience of a certain young woman. I remain inspired and moved by her story, and after her, I created a collection for the biographies I’ve gotten to know better.

I'm compelled to produce creative environments which reveal the vulnerable facts we all do so well to keep hidden. And these drawings are the result of it. They’re a blend of their act of vulnerability in posing and sharing and my testimony of their joy, pain, perseverance, focus, hardship, and achievement. Creativity leads to incredible encounters.
